Gripple, the construction products innovator, has launched a data library to simplify Building Information Modelling (BIM) on building projects, making the company one of the first in the M & E systems’ suspension sector to offer this valuable facility.
Via Gripple’s website, contractors, consultants and architects can access the library of Autodesk Revit files and technical support materials and view or download Gripple’s innovative range of products as digital objects, which can be placed directly into digital building models.
The global construction industry has seen a steady rise in the adoption of BIM – a digital, collaborative means of creating and managing information on a construction project throughout its lifecycle. Some government-led mandates have enforced BIM on public sector projects across Europe.
BIM encourages collaboration throughout projects’ supply chain, allowing them to run in a more timely and effective manner, while reducing costs and improving carbon efficiencies.
The business continues to grow its global technical services function, with dedicated teams in the UK, France, USA and India providing support for consultants and contractors within the more than 80 countries in which the company operates.
Frazer Belafonte, Gripple’s technical services manager, said: “On a daily basis we offer considerable technical support for our customers which is delivered through our installation design service, CPD presentations, BIM consultation, embodied CO² assessments, BREEAM accreditations and on-site support. The data library is a natural step in improving the availability of our data and making it even easier to use the Gripple system on BIM projects.”
Gripple’s wire rope suspension systems offer a time, cost and labour efficient solution for suspending building services, when compared to traditional methods, with the system in use on high profile construction projects across the world. The business, with headquarters in Sheffield and additional sites in Chicago, Obernai and New Delhi, recently celebrated the sale of its 600 millionth unit.
Frazer Belafonte added: “We constantly look to improve our customer service and the data library to ease BIM projects is the latest stage in our efforts. The synergy between the benefits of utilising BIM and those of the Gripple system are very clear, so we are excited to see how we can develop our BIM support in the future.”
Customers can access the Gripple data library by selecting ‘My Gripple’ from the Gripple website homepage menu.
